The BIMF Residency is a unique program which aims to foster the talent of young musicians nationally and internationally. The program provides participants with a nurturing environment that offers numerous intensive lessons in solo or chamber music, complemented by performances, seminars, pre-concert talks, and free admission to all festival concerts.
The program allows international (or non-local) applicants to choose the period of their residency depending on the availability and dates of the artist-faculty with whom the applicant wishes to study. Applicants may choose to complete their residency in as few as 3 days within the festival period (May 23 - June 8). Areas of focus include performance preparation, sessions exploring technical and musical mastery, and professional development for those who are considering a career in music. Residencies are open to the following Instruments: Piano, Violin, Viola, ‘Cello, Voice, and pre-formed chamber groups.

The BIMF Residency Program offers: • Four private lessons of 60 minutes each with members of our artist-faculty. • Numerous performance opportunities in Bari and the region of Apuglia. • A season pass to the 5 BIMF concerts at the Vallisa. • Career development consultation for those who intend on pursuing professional musical studies. • Outstanding performers an opportunity to perform at the Concert Showcase at the Vallisa (June 7, 5:30 PM), based on recommendations from the artist-faculty. The Bari International Music Festival Prize will be awarded to an outstanding musician or ensemble, who will be invited to return as a guest artist for BIMF 2015.
Fees We have combined the application and program fee into one all-inclusive fee. Your application will be definitely accepted after the fee has been paid. In order to ensure that we can place you with the artist-faculty of your choice, we encourage you to apply early as their schedules fill up quickly. • Solo Category: €490. • Apuglia residents or students studying in Apuglia: €340. (With the generous assistance of our donors, the Bari International Music Association will provide scholarships of €150 for applicants with a residential address in Apuglia.) • Pre-formed Chamber Music Ensemble: €170 for each individual in the group. * Chamber Music participants must apply in a pre-formed ensemble.
